Where: Valley Academy Basketball Court
Time: 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. (gates will open at 5:30 p.m.)
Cost: $0 (chips, granola bars, soda and water will be available for purchase)
How does an evening under the stars, listening to beautiful music and enjoying some family time, sound? Well, you will have that opportunity on Tuesday evening, November 7. Your children have been preparing for many months to sing for you and I am so excited at the prospect of you getting to hear them!
You will want to bring:
Performance Times by Grade Level:
(There are 10 min. slots between each performance for students/parents to move to their appropriate locations.) Students: CHECK IN 10 MINUTES BEFORE SINGING - so 8th graders need to be checking in by 5:50 p.m.
Parent seating will be available ONLY for those families whose children are performing in THAT time slot. This means:
Dress Code:
Per Valley Academy’s student handbook, school uniforms may be worn. Your children are also permitted to wear casual or dressy clothing, however:

PARTICIPATION IS REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR YOUR CHILD TO RECEIVE A GOOD GRADE IN THE 2nd QUARTER OF MUSIC CLASS. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND, AN ALTERNATE WRITING ASSIGNMENT WILL BE GIVEN – TO BE COMPLETED AT SCHOOL DURING MUSIC CLASS (NOT AS A PUNISHMENT, BUT AS A WAY FOR THEM TO STILL RECEIVE A GRADE FOR THE PERFORMANCE)

- A big blanket or quilt to spread on the grass (camping chairs are welcome also)
- A picnic supper, fast food, or $ for the food truck or NJHS snacks
- Sweaters, in case our thin Arizona blood thinks 75 degrees is too cold
- A listening ear

- 8th Grade: 6:00 p.m. – 6:10 p.m.
- 7th Grade: 6:20 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- 1st Grade: 6:40 p.m. – 6:50 p.m.
- 2nd Grade: 7:00 p.m. – 7:10 p.m.
- 3rd Grade: 7:20 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- 4th Grade: 7:40 p.m. – 7:50 p.m.
- 5th Grade: 8:00 p.m. – 8:10 p.m.
- 6th Grade: 8:20 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Parent seating will be available ONLY for those families whose children are performing in THAT time slot. This means:
- An announcement will be made that a certain grade level should come to the line-up spot (on the basketball court)
- You, as a family member of a child in that grade, will make your way to the seating area on the basketball court
- You will be close enough to watch and listen to your child perform, take pictures, etc. PLEASE REMAIN SEATED THROUGHOUT THE PERFORMANCE
- When your child’s grade level is finished singing, you will make your way back to your blanket
- If you have multiple children at Valley Academy, you will go to the seating area multiple times
- If you have only one child at Valley Academy, you are free to leave after that child is done singing, OR you may return to your blanket and enjoy listening to the rest of the program
Dress Code:
Per Valley Academy’s student handbook, school uniforms may be worn. Your children are also permitted to wear casual or dressy clothing, however:
- Jeans should not be too tight, too baggy or have holes
- T-shirts are ok, but must not have any writing on them (unless they are Spirit Day shirts)
- Dresses should be no shorter than 4” from the middle of the knee
- Dresses must have straps that are at least 1 ½ inches or more (lace or ribbon is not acceptable)
- No cleavage, halter tops, bare backs, or tummies showing
- No shoes with heels higher than 2”
- Students not adhering to the above guidelines will not be permitted to participate
Performance Conduct:
- No pets should be brought to this evening’s event
- During the singing times, no matter where you are on campus, please keep voices and other noise to a minimum, so as to not distract the singers, and so parents can hear their children perform
- If you are in the family seating area, please put cell phones on mute, so as not to disturb the singers
- If you are in the family seating area, and your younger child is crying or talking loudly, please take them away from the performance area so as not to distract the singers
Parking:
- DO NOT park along the red painted curbs – they are for emergency vehicles ONLY and you could be ticketed
- DO NOT park behind other parked cars – some parents will be leaving after their child sings early in the program, and they should not be blocked in by a car that is parked behind them illegally
- DO NOT park in the horseshoe drive-around – this is for moving vehicles ONLY. You may park in the designated parking spaces.
- If parking off-campus, please be considerate of our neighbors
