About Me
7My family and I moved to Phoenix 18 years ago, at which time we enrolled our eldest son in 1st grade. I have been here ever since - first as a parent - and the past five years, as a teacher (World Languages (2017-2020, and now Music (2020-present). Both our children finished their elementary education here, and I can say without hesitation, that Valley Academy did an amazing job preparing them for their high school and college requirements. Our son is an ASU grad and our daughter received her EMT certification in the fall of 2023.
I'm delighted to be able to impart my love for music of all kinds, to my students! I have my BA in Music Education from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, so a return to my "musical roots" gives me great joy! I spent 16 years of my childhood in the country of Indonesia, so have learned to appreciate music from all around the world and hope to relay that same enjoyment to my students.
I have the wonderful privilege of serving in our church with my family and also enjoy hiking with my husband, swimming, playing piano & guitar, singing, listening to music, watching baseball, football or pretty much any sport, reading, traveling, organizing things, & editing (my 2nd job choice, if I didn't have this one). 😊
